PEACEMAKER or SABRE RATTLER?

WASHINGTON DC — FEB 28, 2025. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky visits President Trump and VP Vance in the Oval Office to sign a historic PEACE agreement in exchange for the US to receive rare earth metals from the Ukraine.

During their discussion a misunderstanding happened between JD Vance and Zelensky when Vance posits that “Diplomacy” is the only way forward and that President Trump will provide Ukraine with a positive diplomatic path to peace. Zelensky responds with concern by giving Vance a history lesson on the 2014 Russian invasion. Trump wakes up and becomes concerned shouting that Zelensky does not have the cards right now. Zelensky responds saying he is not playing cards, and Trump famously responds that “HE IS GAMBLING WITH WORLD WAR 3”.

I have some strong feelings about this train wreck of a press conference / document signing ceremony. First of all, I believe that Zelensky should have had an interpreter for such a long and high level presser. Second, I do not believe Zelensky should have brought photos of POWs to this event. Thirdly, I believe that JD Vance is the reason that the entire thing went off the rails. Why would the VP need to be present during this ceremonial document signing?
